The March 15 speaker is Tim Fenton, owner of Second Breakfast Coffee Roasters. Fenton didn’t start drinking coffee until 2010, shortly after his son was born. A friend quickly turned him on to good coffee and taught him how to roast beans in a popcorn popper. Starting small and then sharing coffee with family and friends, soon his whole family was helping with roasting, bagging and selling of the coffee. Today you can experience the locally roasted coffee and purchase coffee beans at Hannibal's Farmers' Market and the Hannibal Folklife Festival and purchase the coffee through a subscription program, through which they ship to coffee lovers all over the country.
The program is FREE and open to the public. Program partners include Wade Stables P.C., Second Breakfast Coffee Roasters and the Missouri Arts Council.
The Coffee Talk Lecture Series is designed to be relaxed, informal and informative. Through the Coffee Talk Lecture Series, the Hannibal Arts Council will present community members speaking on various topics, including travel, history, health, food, well-being and yes, art. The series is designed on the premise that everyone has a story and a wide variety of interests and are sometimes willing to share that with an audience.
